I recently purchased a really nice custom 2x12 cab. It is very well made with finger joined maple covered in tolex and a birch plywood baffle board. It has two 16 ohm V30's wired to 8 ohms and an open back.
Here's my question, it's a bit harsh for me but I love the clarity of the v30's, so what are some suggestions on how to round out the sound, or fill out the lower end? Should I mix speakers, and if so which speaker goes well with the v30? Or would simply closing the back help?
I was thinking about trying a Eminence Legend with it, what do you think?
Any helpp is appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

Definitely worth trying to close the back up first. I took the back off an amp once and it became less muddy so it might work the opposite way too.
