Just been reading an article about a woman who drank four bottles of wine and then got into the car. She was then reported to police by her husband and then found guilty of drink driving.

So Pit, would you do the same, even if the crime was really serious? Or would you keep quiet about what you knew?

If my mum killed my dad in front of me. Well i'd have to think long and hard about it but i'd probably say yes???

My dad: If I'm ever drunk and I commit some kind of crime, I want you to turn me in, if I'm sober then I'll turn myself in. Until that time, you shut up and eat your pop-tart shit and let me eat my bacon in peace.

Tough question...Depends on what the crime was.

Frankly, I can't imagine any of my family members committing a crime, but I guess if I knew about it, I'd tell the rest of the family, and we'd agree on the best course of action.

If somebody risks any sort of danger, yes.

JacobTheEdit: This made me think of the children in 1984 who report their parents as being thought criminals, just because they made the kids angry.

Depends on the severity of the crime. Shoplifting? No. Murder? Absolutely.

this basically.

On a severity scale of drug related crimes:

Buying drugs? definitely not.
Selling drugs? no.
Stealing to get money for drugs? yes - for their own good
Killing someone for not paying? without a second thought.

I wouldn't, unless it was a case of abuse or something. If my brother told me he killed someone I'd keep it to myself.
#15
nobody likes a snitch

But really I would probably talk to them the first time they did it, and then on afterward would be notifying the authorities.

depends what they did and why they did it

Definitely. My brother is kind of a black sheep, and one time through my own stupidity (and my brother's lying) I was with him when he got arrested (wasn't the first time) for violating probation and having marijuana. He gave the cops a false name and the cops pulled me aside and asked me his real name for confirmation and his birth date. They tried to get me to incriminate myself also but I kept cool and avoided it. It was scary, though.

I would hand my brother over again without hesitation. If you're being stupid like that you earned and deserve every consequence.

it would be entirly on the crime something petty probably not, but if it was something big probably, and alot of it would depend on who it was
#19
For murder, rape, arson, or really bad assault (like if they assaulted someone and almost killed them, or kept going after they were out), I would. I wouldn't report them for anything else.

Depends on how close I am to them, although that doesn't mean anything if they commit a murder or something.

Oh and also if I was in the position of the person in TS' story, I would definitely call the police. People could die.

Well in the case of the story I gave in the OP, the woman was driving her son to school on that much drink. So yes.
#29
If it's someone in my immediate family and the crime isn't too serious, then no. But I would probably report my cousins, uncles, aunts, etc.
#30
If my mom parked her car in the handicapped spot, I'm not gonna go tell the nearest officer

If my 2nd cousin murdered one of my friends, obviously I'd call the cops

It's a matter of how close I am to them, and how serious the crime was.

Depends on what the crime was. If it was a violent crime than yes but I wouldn't turn any family or even friends in for drug crimes, shoplifting and vandalism. In the case of the woman drinking 4 bottles of wine I would stop her from getting in the car so I wouldn't have to call the cops.
#33
depends, but more than likely no

Sometimes. My cousin did alot of speed and Es in his youth, and I've reported him to the police a couple of times when it just gets out of hand. He lives down the road from us, always has, and he used to try and break into our neighbours house, not to steal anything, but to "freak her out".

He's gone straight since then, settled down with a kid and a wife, so I guess some people just get it out of their system.
