last week i got a american standard strat for my birthday, my family and i shared the cost.
i was tossing up between this and a tele but once i saw pictures of this colour scheme i was hooked!

plays and sounds beautiful. i use it through a ht-5 combo with a vox wah and moen fuzz.
sounds great clean, beautiful clear tone with that stratty honk i was hoping for.
dirty channel sounds great too, i don't use a huge amount of gain usually, mostly dirty blues and rock. like a heavier SRV tone.
also it sounds huge with the fuzz on the cranked clean channel.
i'll probably change the pickups eventually, there's a dude in melbourne who i've heard good things about.

it originally came with 9's on it but they were swiftly changed to 10's (they sounded to shrill for my liking) and the rest is stock. also came with a fantastic hardcase, strap, cloth etc.

Pics!

and with my super swede

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

needs more maple fretboard.

Still a nice guitar.

Very nice guitar but I do prefer the maple... which is why I got the maple neck =D
I really like the neck too though not sure if it's the same, my strat is an early 09 I don't find it "beefy" though feels great to me.

Happy new guitar day. I've been really liking the look of white Strats with rosewood fretboard lately. I have found Fender Stratocasters to be the most comfortable guitars I've ever played.

err, it is a 2 point trem on the standard, the special has the 6 point old vintage style trem.

congrats TS, olympic white is sweet.

thanks everybody!
i looked at the maple neck but it just didn't leap out at me like the rosewood did. and its definitely a standard.
now that i'm getting more used to it the neck is a dream, its just the right size for my hand.
