Hey all.

So atm, I'm recording midi in Sonar 4 through Hypersonic VST's. I'm getting huge midi lag though, which makes it impossible to record anything in time.

Right now my setup goes:

Midi keyboard (input via usb) > Laptop > External soundcard (playback).

Would there be less lag if I connected the keyboard to the sound card using midi cables? If it did it would go:

Keyboard > Sound card > Laptop > Sound card.

Would it make any difference? I would try it out, but I don't have any midi cables...

Cheers.

There should be something in the audio options which allows you to change the latency. Try that.

what kind of sound card? I have mine hooked up with midi cables and get no latency issues.
Now running an Eleven Rack with Pro Tools 10.3.3 - it's amazing and I'm having ball with it - worth every penny. PT 10 is tops IMO and the Eleven Rack is a work of art!

It's a Tascam US-122. Midi, 2 line in and 2 mic inputs.

I'll check the audio options. Cheers.
