hi guys

I changed the selector on my squier strat from the crappy one to a fender like style both were 5 ways. and i removed the tone pots just to see what it was like without them and also i broke one of them. i wired it up and now the neck and middle pick up make no sound at all, while the bridge pick up still works.

any help?

Could be a few things.

bad solder joints
burnt out tone cap
wiring the tone circuit wrong
stray wires creating a short
or the switch could be too big. Some of the squire guitars don't have a deep enough body cavity for the high quality fender style switch so the lugs of the switch could be making contact with things they shouldn't.

Pics will help.
If you have a multimeter to test DC resistance we can walk you through testing things to isolate the problem.
