Right now I have a Peavey Vypyr 75w, but I really don't like the amp models it gives you, as theres only 3-5 HIGH gain amp models. My question is, shoud I trade my Vypyr for a Spider, or get a different kind? Please, no (Line 6 F****** sucks!). I know alot don't like them. But I want suggestions, so please help! Price range would be no higher then 500, and it has to be atleast 40watts for possable small shows, thanks!

From everything I've ever heard myself, and everything I've ever heard from anyone else - Vypyrs are FAR better than spiders.

Although I'm not one of those people who just copy what everyone else says, upgrading to a spider is very very silly.

500? US dollars I assume?

Why don't you look at getting a tube amp?

Tube would be fine too, I just wanted suggestions, lol. For big shows, I have a Peavey VK 100 head. So I just wanted something that could be used for shows if necisary. It would be shows of maybe 75-125 people. We play Metal/Hardcore, so it needs to be high gain.

Somebody definatly will say get a used 6505, but to honest, it'll probably suite you well, have a look at those.

In my opinion you should definatly always look to buy tube amps, especially over modelling amps, unless it's just for home practice.
