I use a Peavey Valveking and I can not get a decent metal tone out of it at all. So what distortion pedal you recommend? I am currently in a band and we play thrash like Master of Puppets era Metallica and metalcore like I Killed The Prom Queen.

How about buying an overdrive pedal and use it as a boost? I have no experience with this, but most people with tube amps tend to do this...
