It is a kind of soft-rockish 80's song I think, don't know the name or the author, I just remember this really catchy melody on the intro...that i've uploaded in a guitar pro file attached...

I onlr remember the first verse that the dude sings:

"On the night..." (with the catchy melody in the back)

So, I hope you can help me, the doubt is ****in killing me!

Well, I listened to the track and it isn't "I wanna hold your hand" by the Beatles, and it isn't the Eric Clapton or the Lead Zeppelin or the Derp Purple so I am stumped.

I am 50 years old and have a strat btw, so these are the only artists I know.
