Well it's been a while since I've posted any new amps for Russia... so here's the latest batch:

MADE IN THE USA!!!

Review:

As most of you probably know by now. I really like the 5150s... The 5150 II/6505+ is less aggressive than the original, much more smooth, but still sounds great. It is a better lead amp because of its smoothness IMO. Clips in the profile of it reamped through a KSE song.

MADE IN THE USA AGAIN!!!

Review:

Wasn't quite sure what to think of this amp initially. It has a pretty brutal voicing, but their just wasn't that much gain. It was almost like the VHT Ultralead I had in a while back, but more "alive." I found out that one of the preamp tubes was dead, so I replaced it - now this thing SLAYS. I really don't understand the hate on these things, cause this amp sounds ****ing awesome. There's sooooo much saturation and it's aggressive as hell. The sweep knob is also very easy to get used to, I've really yet to find a bad tone on this amp. The cleans are also pretty impressive! Clips in my profile, but be aware, that was before I found the dead preamp tube, so it doesn't sound quite as good (not enough gain).

Yup, but it wasn't microphonic... it was actually dead

What kinda kittens? Demon kittens? Can I construct a horde to take over the world with them?

I've had them since last week, was planning on packing them up today - probably going to run the Krank through the DIs again now that it sounds better first though. Will be shipped out tomorrow or Saturday

Oh and I also had this too:

Review:

The cleans on this amp are much better than people give them credit for. I dunno why people say that there really isn't a clean channel on the Uberschall... because it had pretty good cleans IMO. I liked this amp better than the XTC. Maybe the XTC had some microphonic tubes or something, it sounded good, but it was noisy as hell and very ice-picky in the highs. The Uberschall, on the gain channel is very much a glorified Recto. It's tighter, but it definitely has a similar sound going on. I didn't really like the distortion channel by itself, it was sorta muddy and loose for my tastes. I could see how it'd work great for hard rock or something of the sort, but with a boost in front of it, this thing became a whole new animal. One of my favorite high gain tones I've ever heard with a boost. Too bad it doesn't sound like that by itself

Here's a shitty clip I did of the Uber :

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4018922/Feed%20Me%20Fear_Reamp.mp3 Right is unboosted (part that plays at the beginning), left is boosted.

P.S. My new amp should be here Saturday

Man that clip sounded very crowded for some reason. I think the guitars and cymbals should have been turned down a bit to make things clearer in the mix. I liked it boosted better but I think that amp just isn't for me though.

Yeah, the drums and stuff aren't really mixed. I just threw them in there and was like GO!

at least the russian government is smart enough to work with matrixclaw.

we probably buy those amps for $40,000. The cost of a toilet seat at the pentagon.

matrixclaw trades a used toilet seat from a trailer down by the river for a bogner.

we're screwed...

HNRAW man

Any chance of getting the Rose of Sharyn DIs through the uberschall? It sounds nice boosted, unboosted it was real muddy and loose though, like you said.

The Krank was interesting too, you don't hear much of them and they have a really unique voicing to them (IMO).

Also, I look forward to your personal NAD...if it's something you are actually gonna keep it has to be good!

Unfortunately, I sent the Uber out last Friday, so I don't have it anymore - I didn't think of putting it through the Rose of Sharyn DIs then I was supposed to get another one yesterday, but the guy never called me, so I dunno what the deal is. Oh well.

And the amp I'm getting better not dissapoint or ima beat someone

New clips up of the Krank. MUCH better IMO

Little on the fizzy side, but it can be dialed out, I just wanted to make sure it came out heavy enough

*edit* Maybe it's just me, but the new Krank clip completely rapes all the other Rose of Sharyn reamps I did

Yeah, it definitely does have a bit too much.

I was monitoring through the headphones and it sounded crappy, so I turned some stuff up, apparently it sounded fine, was just the headphones

Didn't feel like doing it all over again though haha.

Nice to see some love for Kranks. I've had a love hate relationship with my Rev Jr. from day one, but ultimately I think it's a great little amp. Also, they really don't skip out on quality and craftsmanship. When I looked at the guts of my Krank I was blown away by how neat and orderly all the wiring was.

The XTC you played was definitely fuxxored. It's voiced with a really smooth high end. Rheinhold doesn't like his highs sharp. And every one I've played has been really quiet considering the gain. It definitely wouldn't be my choice for modern metal though.
