alright dudes so im about done with my first theory textbook/workbook combo 'Tonal Harmony'.. lot of fun, lots of hours not sleeping

wondering if anyone else had input on theory textbooks and what not..

Also anyone out there into Jazz Theory?.. kinda familiarizing with it now.. but treatments of upper chord extensions has me like

yeah...jazz theory is another world...get a very firm foundation of diatonic harmony first..in all keys...learn all the chords and their inversions in all positions and all related scales and arpeggios...and song structures (standards)..to see how these principles are applied..

after you absorb this type of study then jazz harmony will make far more sense...
