first off, i dont kno a dam thing about line 6 pods, other that they can simulate amps,

but wat i wanna kno is, ive heard that they can be plugged directly into a computer to record with (not sure tho)

if they do, is it possible to plug my current amp into the pod and hook the pod to the comptuer to record my amp?

yess but i'd choose the pod's amp models over the roland cube for things like high gain
even the low gain settings are pretty good
not keen on their marshall models though bit too compressed

yes you can record with all POD's

are we talking about the floor POD's or desktop POD's?

also, the X3 and XT, have usb connectivity

Pods are highly recommended for recording. Their amp models are amazing! If you're buying one, get the X3. You can also use it live by connecting an FBV pedal to it.
