Dunno if anybody is interested in this, but here it is.

http://www.spacex.com//webcast.php

Webcast has ended.

If you're clueless (like I was at first), SpaceX is a private company trying to improve launch vehicles. This rocket is designed to do anything from satellite to interplanetary missions.

Success!

So the T-00:15:00 at the top right, is that a sort of countdown thingie?

EDIT: Never mind, obviously not. Carry on.

Not sure, but the rumors have a new launch time of 1P EDT (GMT -5). Obviously that's in less than half an hour and the T time still isn't moving. Since I've been watching it, that thing that's at an acute angle to the rocket has moved to that position from being parallel to it, so I think it's still moving forward. The window is 11-3 EDT, though, so they still have 2.5 hours to dink around.

Oh, and occasionally some dude talks. It tends to make the feed buffer more slowly though.

SHEdit: I think they're now officially guessing at T-0:27:30, but haven't made it official yet. Judging by what the guy just said.

My dad was trying to get a job with SpaceX if his current program stayed canceled, but I'm pretty sure the program was uncanceled, so he's abandoned that idea.

I guess this is a useless post, but now you get a view into my personal life. Cherish it fellas. Cherish it.

I'll be honest, I'm not so much curious about the clocks as I am about the fact that the smoke seems to exist in a neverending supply.

The steam has to do with fueling.

Apparently this delay is because of a telemetry issue. And the hold is no longer being held, dawg.

Dammit launch! I haven't eaten lunch yet, and there's no food, and I'm starved, but I want to see this thing launch!

I can buy that. But riddle me this: if no rocket is flying, why is there fueling? Hmm? HMMMMM?

It's keeping the hold clock moving.

Fair enough. Something's gotta keep that clock runnin'.

Now, when is 1 in that specific time? An hour? Two? Seventeen?

Audio feeds from KSC are talking about a boat in the restricted zone. Coast guard is being sent to deal with them.

Excuse me sir, do you realize we're trying to launch a rocket today?
No way! Can I see it?

No. That's how long we'd been holding. Time of launch is unknown because somebody thought it would be fun to take their boat out to try to catch the first stage of the rocket.

Where at Fark are you reading about this, Steve?

Geek tab, tagline says something like "SpaceX Falcon9 Explosion Window Opens at 11:00 AM."

On a serious note I can hear a bit of thunder in the background . Also, this coupled with Mass Effect is making me very interested in space.

Launch now thought to go off at 1:30 eastern. Which gives us just enough time for a new problem to pop up.

... apparently. Sounds like this might take some time.

EDIT: The clock is up, with a proper countdown this time! 14 minutes to go.

really?

well if you lot are so clever why is the giant fireworks just sitting there?

and how come you don't have death rays to, for example, destroy a boat in the drop zone?

or why don't you go over and tell the dude he's likely to get hit on the head? surely the almighty scientists can operate a megaphone.

damn scientists, all book smart, not an ounce of common sense between them.

Dude, you're launching a rocket into space, I know that's a lot harder than a working stream. Come on.

And KSC is talking about another boat.

Mine started working after I quit trying to stream the KSC audio too. Quit any other streams you have open.

As I say that, it has to rebuffer -_-

Because

a) Some dude is sitting there waiting for the rocket to fall on his head
b) Because we're not allowed, the government stops us from pwning the hell out of people like that (Whitey ALWAYS trying to keep the black man down)
c) Because we told him and he doesn't care, and the federal filth won't let us launch even if he agrees to the risks of of having a rocket fall on his head. Having said that, if this were a Chinese launch, maybe the governement would be less concerned about people trying to catch stuff they obviously can't.
