And Outlaw Torn is like 4:30 shorter on the released album than it originally was written. They cut off a cool bluesy jam thing.

I thought to live is to die wouldve been so much better if they'd stuck with the acoustic sound through the whole song

I'm pretty sure it's on youtube. It's really good. They were forced to cut time so they could fit all the songs on the record or something.

EDIT: I just looked up the info again, and the record company told them they couldn't go a second past 78:59 for the album, but they were about 30 seconds over. So they opted to remove the entire jam at the end.

I'm half-and-half on that. I love the song as it is, but that tone of that clean sound that comes in mid way is pretty incredible. I thought they would at least do something with it on wither the S&M album, or on "Acoustic Metal."....would've been nice.

Yeah that's why. My mistake, they cut off 1:30 not 4:30. But I still liked it. Especially how Kirk's short licks worked back and forth with James' rhythm riffs.

Hm... I've got a lot (in no particular order):

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Voodoo Chile (the 15:00 jammy one, not "Slight Return").
John Butler Trio - Ocean (some versions are like 5 minutes but some go on for over 15), Foundation, Money, Sometimes, Colours.
Buckethead - Padmasana, Soothsayer.
Tool - too many to mention.
CCR - I Heard It Through the Grapevine.
John Mayer (Trio) - Out Of My Mind (and other live/jammy ones).
Derek Trucks Band - Sahib Teri Bandi - Maki Mandi.
Miles Davis - So What.
Led Zeppelin - An overwhelmingly large number of awesome songs.

I think that's about it. If I would have counted ones down to 8 minutes the list would be significantly longer.

Edit: I just selected all the songs on my iTunes that are 9:00 or over, and the total count was 337. Most of it is live stuff or stuff I don't really listen to it, so I didn't go through the whole list.
Only play what you hear. If you don’t hear anything, don’t play anything.

Isn't that 42 minutes or something?
Because I heard part of it once and it made my day.
