Hi all,

This is our first studio recording. We normally go for the prog metal angle but a uni mate needed a song around the 4 minute mark for his recording portfolio so we wrote this little number. It's essentially thrash metal but we still managed to cram quite a lot into 4 minutes. Let me know what you think and, of course, C4C. Cheers.

I liked it, quite a good blend of different thrash elements to it, and i liked the vocals during the verses (not sure on the clean voacls in the chorus), and the solos could be tidied up a tad - but those are really just minor issues and i really liked the harmonised melody near the end and the riffs are quite meaty, so overall quite a good effort seeing as you dont really go down the short thrashy route

I havent really recorded any songs recently, but you can check them out and crit any one of them

Awesome song man. I really like the riff at 2:30 and the harmonized solo toward the end was really cool. Recording quality was pretty good too.

Grief Society is a solid song. I'd like to hear that intro riff somewhere else in the song. It'd be good for a slayer type breakdown. A little too much wankery for my tastes, but it fits the style. Clean vocals could be cleaned up a bit, but that's just being nit picky. Good stuff!

Thanks for the crit- I left some comments on your profile- good stuff though!

Yeah, we took way too long setting up so this is essentially one take in the end which was really frustrating. There are no overdubs other than the vocals so there are definitely some rough edges. I played the first two solos and was told to lay them down as a marker but then didn't have time to go back and do them properly!

Nice song, i actually liked the clean vocals, or at least what they could be if re-recorded in tune. Awesome growls and i could almost hear some awesome bass but was a little quiet in the mix for me (but i probably would say that as a bassist so i guess it's personal taste). Loved the riff at 2:30 but there's a lot of string noise that could be easily tidied i think. Good job!

Please take a listen to some of my stuff if you get the time:

Thanks for the crit man!

This was pretty good, I think bass definitely need to come up in the mix, its very hard to make out. Drums where pretty good and so was guitar. This type of music isnt really my cup of tea but it was pretty easy to listen too. Guitar solo was pretty cool. Vocals were good too for the most part. Again not a big fan or growling/ screaming but he did a good job too. Overall good little tune. Really would like to hear the bass more in my face tho if ya know what I mean.
