Good Morning UG!

I've got a ValveKing 112 and I was wondering what I could do to replicate the tone in this video

I understand that the VK is not on par with a Mark IIC+, but I would absolutely love to get close to this sound.

I am willing to invest in buying new tubes and speakers if the need be.

Currently have the stock preamp tubes and speaker and Groove Tube 6l6s in it.
Have an MXR 10 Band and a Metal Zone for sculpting the sound.

Thank You For Reading,
I can't listen to clip right now but you should be able to get something passable. I just sold my Valveking to a guy who was looking to put it in his church so he didn't have to lug his Mesa back and forth. There is also a 'Mesa' mod you can perform if you are good with circuitry. Hit up the Valveking thread for info on that.

I replace the speaker first with something like a Celestion Vintage 30 or WGS Veteran 30. Next, I'd ditch the Metal Zone pedal and get a Bad Monkey or Tubescreamer OD. Then I'd replace the preamp tubes then the power tubes. Hit up the Valveking thread and Wiki Valveking for more info there too.
Listen to this guy's clips:

http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/ilya-v/ He's running a very modded Valveking with the Mesa mod and an EQ in the effects loop. If you like that tone, you can get that tone.

The Mesa Mod Take 2 is double tracked, the Mesa Mod take 1 isn't.

As 311 said, what you need to do is get rid of the stock speaker (I second the WGS Veteran 30, I have one in my 112) and also get rid of the stock tubes. For power tubes, you can put in JJ 6L6es, and as for preamp tubes, try a Tung-Sol 12AX7 in V1, a Mullard 12AX7 in V2 and a Sovtek 12AX7LPS in V3.
