Hey guys...(and maybe gals)

So I live in a place where I can't be blasting away on the guitar. I've been playing for around 2 years-ish, anywhere from Pantera to Stevie Ray Vaughan and need a MFX unit to plug my headphones into. My budget is around 200-300$, and I need a small, portable solution that has good amp modelling, effects, and at least an ok tone. Considering:

VOX Tonelab ST: http://www.amazon.com/Vox-ToneLab-Guitar-Multi-Effects-Processor/dp/B0027I28E4

Boss Me-25: http://www.amazon.com/Boss-Guitar-Multi-Effect-Pedal/dp/B0035JI8J8

Line 6 POD XT: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002T1QCK/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?ie=UTF8&cloe_id=5c520bda-1984-44d9-8c98-8207207eed18&attrMsgId=LPWidget-A1&pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000667682&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0HPBYM2PEPCBH73S3TDB

I'm leaning towards the Tonelab, since it sounds good, cheap, and damn it looks good too!

Thanks for your help!

I have a Boss ME 70, cost around $300 if I remmeber correctly, maybe $350.

I would recommend it to anyone, it sounds absolutely amazing, is built rock solid, looks nice, and has great battery life(6 AAs, I think). Boss makes amazing effects, and the ME series is supoosed to be their single pedals combined into one unit. The setup is made to resemble the pedals.

I would recommend the ME 70 over the ME 50, but I guess that's the reason it costs more.

I don't have experience with any of those. But I know Boss models aren't special without tweaking. Unfortunately, the ME-25 doesn't give you nearly as many options as you would need to get a really good tone. And the ones that you do need are missing. That's something to keep in mind.

Usually, most companies do a good job warranting the purchase of the higher end model. If you are serious about considering the XT, I would suggest throwing in another $50 to upgrade to the POD X3. So much better!

I use the ME-25. Absolutely love it. The more expensive you go, the more complicated things get. Go play around with one!

Yes I was rude, and I was aggressive and I was offending a large group of people. But I was civlized about it.

i have the tonelab le, and i LOVE it. great sounds...i think theyre more realistic than the line6. as far as the boss, i played an ME-50, i was less than impressed. i thought it was limited in variety.

get the Line 6 POD. they work fine for headphone practice and can be used in place of an amp live if need be. they also are good for recording direct into your computer. i used mine for the songs in my profile.

I have an RP 500 that I am in love with. You should check them out.

don't know if it matters, but currently I've got a shitty amp...Would i be able to play one of the MFX units' sounds through the amp? as in amp modelling? thnks
