hey ive been looking around for some recording gear just to record vocals guitar and bass,

how do you think this will go
shure sm 57
rode NT1-A
M-AUDIO profire 610
and some kind of di for recording bass?

Looks nice. I have heard the SM57 is okay for vocals as well, so I wouldnt buy the NT1-A at first, then if you feel you need it you could but it later.

I have those two microphones, and they compliment each other really well.

I do not know if you need the DI for the bass to be honest.

Your interface has an instrument line in.

Thats a pretty solid setup right there. You don't need a DI since the Pro Fire has a line in you can use for the Bass.

Compared to the SM57, the NT1-A is amazing. The SM57 was never really a vocal mic in the first place and I never really liked it on vocals

Yeah probably, just thinking it might be more ecomical to buy them one at a time if you know what I mean.
