Hi im looking into getting a new guitar and this time wanna get a set neck with a fixed bridge for the tone and for being able to tune differently.

What good guitars are out there? I play metal, rock, prog, jazz and blues as well as some clean stuff so i need a guitar that can handle that. I wanna try to avoid les pauls but any other guitar seems interesting.

My price range is somewhere between 1500- 2000 dollars

got any ideas?

You may also want to check out Paul Reed Smith's Miras and Starlas. Both are excellent guitars and the Mira may suit your needs better. Plus you'll be hard-pressed to find anything that plays as well at that price.
Fender 5 String Jazz Bass
Fender Precision Bass
Peavey TNT 115
EHX Bass Big Muff Pi
Daneletro Cool Cat OD V2 (excellent pedal)
Paul Reed Smith SE Custom Semi-Hollow
Peavey Classic 30
Vox V845 Classic Wah Pedal

it's mostly body shape, pickups, body/neck wood.

the mccarty is of better quality, most of them come with 10 tops

if i were you i would get a used custom 22 or 24 those cost around 2000 used. the custom 22 and 24 are the top of the line PRS guitars (only things better are private stocks)
