alright so im doing all the research possible to make a mass purchase..

i want to put my passive Seymour Duncans in a Jackson DKMG that has a route for the 9v battery / push pull pot.

Will that even work? And if so how will my tone sound?

you will have to change the pots, but apart from that it will be fine, all you will hear is a different tone as the pickups are different
#3
Shouldn't your thread title be active to passive? but you shouldnt have any problems passive's are much simpler to wire. the battery box would just kinda be there i think?

edit: forgot about the active pot's listen to the man above me.

no im sorry. i dont think i clarified

Is it possible to make the Seymour Duncan passives now active hooking it up to the battery and what not..

It has EMG-HZ's which ive never really liked so im thinking of options

no you can't, as passives and active are buiilt diffferently, actives have a preamp whilst passives do not

If you want to make your passive more like actives, maybe try an emg afterburner? Or another kind of small boost?

are you sure you want to make the step up to active nazi?

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I agree wit this guy.

If you put an onboard gain boost with you HZ's I bet you will like them. I know I did.

I liked them enough to rip out the active EMG 81 I had to put in the HZ w/ abq.

With a gain boost you can boost more than the active pu's will. Plus with the gain boost you can adjust how much boost, or completly turn off the boost.

It will then basically be an active PU, but with the pre-amp on the outside of the PU, but it will be adjustable

Well if it's got an afterburner, YES you can boost your Seymour ducan passive with it.

Have you even played it yet? You may love a boosted HZ.

Honestly, for harmonics, my HZ's are beast.

You got a great deal my friend.

Give the HZ's a shot....I bet you'll be suprised when you hear them with the after burner. I knew I was.

FYI...with that d-tuna you CAN NOT pull up with the whammy bar.

sure, as long as you have the "normal" fine tuner to replace it.
