Yeah PS2, retro right? So anyway my sister and I recently acquired our friend's old PS2 and we've been trying to set it up. However, we did not get the AC cord to go with it to plug it in to the wall. BUT we did find out that her laptop AC cable works, but it says 125V, and the PS2 only needs 8.5V. (I'm not sure if this is the problem or not). It works, as much as the PS2 turns on and we get the main menu, but whenever we put in a disc (and restart) nothing happens. I asked one of my other friends and he said after going to Browser and inserting the disc, it should say "Reading Disc". Ours doesn't. Anyone know what could be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

since when did PS2's become retro?

A console capable of playing DVD's is certainly not retro in my book.
Well retro as in, the only video game system our family has is the $20 Atari thing from Walmart and a GBA, and everyone else has like, xBox 360, Wii, and PS3
