So, I recently acquired a Boss DD-5, and to my surprise it doesn't run quite the same as my friends DD-3 does. While he plays with his delay on, the moment he switches it off, the delay effect turns off on the spot. However, with my pedal, while I play with it on, the moment I switch it off, the effect still persists and slowly fades away, and does not stop, as I said, the moment I turn the pedal off. Why is this exactly? Can anyone help? It's really getting annoying...

I haven't used the DD-5 myself, but my DD-6 does the 'trails' thing as well. Its just a feature of the pedal, and as far as I know there's no way to turn it off

Never heard anyone not want trails before, usually it's the other way round.
