Do you need it for band practice and gigs? If so which type of gigs? Or do you just need it for home use?

Name some bands of whom you like the tone.

Any particular features that you would like the amp to have?

Maybe a Jet City 50 head and a 2x12 cab or something.

Give us some more information:

Location?
Used/New?
Gigging/Band?
Description of the sound you want?
Other preferences?
etc.

For that much, you can get the Bugera 333XL which has gotten pretty popular here, plus a few good pedals.

and then there's free jazz, which isn't even for musicians.

More for band practice and gigs . Gigs are not so big ( yet ) .
Im really into Oldschool - type hard rock . Guns'N Roses , Whitesnake . From newer bands - Black Stone Cherry .
So it should be pretty much high-gain .

I dont know about used or new , if i get a decent used1 that cost much less then yea i could get it . I live in Estonia ( Eastern Europe) so everything costs a bit more then in America .

A booger 333 XL would be a good choice.

what about PEAVEY 6505 212 COMBO ?

Good amps if you like that sort of heavy sound.

Might not be the best choice for classic rock though.

If you can afford it. They are great metal and rock amps. Not so good on the cleans, but great for distortion.

used marshall dsl/tsl would be perfect not sure what your used market is like
and new they'd go for around $1000 so it might be pushing it

You could get a peavey xxx, ultra, or ultra plus halfstack ($500-$800)
Or a JCM 900 high gain dual reverb halfstack for about $1000
a JCM 2000 combo. $600 - $800

I got to play the dsl 401 combo. It was awesome for hardrock kinda stuff. Wasn't for me, but worth checking out.

The XXX is awesome for hardrock, punk, and metal. The clean channel is pretty cool with some reverb/delay/chorus on it. (the ultra and ultra plus are older cheaper versions of the xxx)
