So in this thread, post the things that made you jump from TV, movies or videogames.
The things that chilled you down to the core, and made you shudder uppon seeing it.

For me, my number one "AAAAH!" moment was the spider crawling scene from the exorcist, where the girl climbs the stairs down backwards. It was completely random and out of nowhere, and to this very day ALWAYS gives me the creeps whenever I watch it.

It seems pretty weak, but in Star Trek: First Contact there's this scene where Picard is having this nightmare where the Borg are inserting a needle into his eye. It always makes me cringe.

There's a bit in Half-Life 2 where you knock down a tempting beam with your crowbar, and a whole load of black headcrabs fall on your head. How ever much I get ready for it I always jump.

What part are you struggling with? Making it to the platforms on the jetpack parts? Or Boba Fett? I always missed the platforms and fell.

I can't get past the part where he you have to fight his ship. I can get to the fight against boba easily enough, but the end boss is what always gets me, no matter how many lives I have.

Also, the only reason I can get to that stage is because in the stage before, where you fight that killer robot in the trash dump, I found a glitch where you can slip through the trash and fire at the robot without him being able to hit you.

damn, that game is hard!

I have sat through horror films without blinking an eye at all the cheap shock scenes and creepy shit, yet for some reason I always jump when a fucking rat attacks me in Tomb Raider.

In MGS2 when Stillman's body floats out of that underwater room, fucking creeps me out.

Also when it's FIERCE MILD!

F.E.A.R creeped me out a lot when I played it as a 13-year old, sitting in the dark to turn around and have a creepy ninja punch me in the face wasn't good for my health.

A final one which I can't find is in a dream sequence where you see all the people Alma (the little girl) has killed in a mental hospital acting pretty crazy.

In Bioshock 1, in the dentist room i think it is. you walk in and the room fills with smoke, you can hear footsteps and when the smoke disappears, a body appears on the chair infront of you. then you walk over to the wall to pick some ammo up. room fills with smoke and footsteps are heard again. you turn around, away from the wall.... and a bloody splicer is RIGHT infront of you make me jump

Penderecki's music ALWAYS makes me feel paranoid and see moving shadows from the corner of my eye.

Also, that damn orphanage level in Thief 3. I finally just stopped using stealth and randomly ran around the level to finish it faster.
The first time I got to the catacombs in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Got through the first few rooms and stopped playing until I decided to finish the game about... 4-5 years later

The only horror movies that affect me are mostly some creepy Japan stuff. The jumpy scares they put in the movies today are just stupid. Its not ****ing scary! It just makes you jump for a second, but it doesn't inject that tense and "hold on to your seat" feeling.
I would be happy, if they'd start making some horror movies that have the effect equal to Penderecki's music.

The other day I looked up the "Jerusalem cricket". Needless to say I said "AHHHHH!" due to it's yucky appearance, but I was impressed with it's ability to fend off hostile neighbors.
