What are some songs from bands you like that when you come across on the cd, playlist, etc... that just make ask "what the fuck is this?"

I was just listening to this band I just found out about and this song came on.

It's a cover but still. It's surprising they covered it. You have to actually listen to the song all the way through to get what I'm saying.

"We Tigers" by Animal Collective.

WE TIGERS WE TIGERS UH! DEE DEDEDEDEDEDEDDEDEDEDEDEDEDOOO *SCREAM*

But it's a good kind of full-of-****.

EDIT: And every Of Montreal album I've ever listened to. The entire albums. I mean, they're good albums, usually, but DAMN, they must be on some HARD psychedelics. I don't mean your grandma's psychedelics, I mean "that guy who used to be a heroin addict, can't get heroin anymore, and can only get psychedelics, and he somehow has to have those make him as high as the heroin" kind of psychedelics.

That's a pretty cool song actually.

If you're talking about mine, then yeah it is. I just wasn't expecting it after listening to a few of their really heavy songs.

Actually, any Meshuggah song. I think Bleed is their worst song though, I'd suggest I if you have 21 minutes.

Meshuggah is pretty cool. I'm starting to get into them. I've only listened to the first minute or so of Bleed before I've had to go do something or what not.

The first time I heard Octavarium by Dream Theater I went "what the flying **** is this?" when the continuum came in. It was the first song I heard by the band, and pretty much my first touch of progressive music, so I was kinda creeped out by that freaky sounding thing in the intro.

Tool - Intermission

But it's such an awesome lead in to Jimmy.

I'm going to preface this by saying that the Flaming Lips are still my favorite band and they can (usually) do no wrong but...

Seriously? What the **** were you guys thinking?

I'm gonna mark this one down as Henry Rollins' fault.

I thought they did really well on that cover, that whole album even.

EXCEPT for when Rollins does the interview bits, thats just annoying to listen to.

For Tool it's fairly standard. I love that particular instance. It's stuff like Viginti Tres and Eon Blue Apocalypse that makes no sense to me.

Peaches's "Fuck the Pain Away" tends to fill my head with fuck most times I hear it.

I tried listening to The National a couple of days ago. I had tried this previously when Boxer came out, and once more with the release of their new single "Bloodbuzz Ohio". To put it quite simply, the amount of boredom they induce is on par with R.E.O. Speedwagon

Horse Latitudes by the Doors is quite, er, striking upon first listen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbtMtKzA_EY
But obviously it's amazing and sets up wonderfully for Moonlight Drive

And the censored track in the German version of Rammstein's Liebe Ist Fuer Alle Da. It's just like 3 minutes of silence

Couple of meshuggah songs. Inside Whats Within Behind really tends to mess with my head. especially when I'm high.

Only tool song that I can think of is Faaip de oiad. That shit screws my brain up. NOT a song you want to listen to while high.

Faaip De Oiad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqO3BByBflg

analedit: oh and Third Eye. How could I forget that one.

Analedit2: wait are we talking about song that make us go wtf in a bad way? Cause those songs up there are in the good way.
