Anyone should be able to do whatever they want with their bodies. Including prostitution. And weed.

this.

It's my goddamn body, if I want to sell anal sex for a dimebag of weed, I'll damn well find a way to do it, and prohibition isn't gonna stop me or anybody else, so it's pointless and stupid.

If it were legal it would save money in police spending, increase tax revenue, and become a much safer business. Although there would still probably be unlicensed street *****s.
grok it.

I actually doubt that. Why would they choose to go the less safe and likely lower paying route?

And we need more than just freedom to do light drugs and whoring ourselves out. If nothing that only directly harmed ourselves was illegal then it would likely reduce the number of people doing drugs etc whilst helping the economy and making these 'problems' more safe in general.

Prostitution (and marijuana, for that matter, as it was mentioned above) is a victimless crime. Assuming the client doesn't decide to go apesh*t violent on the hooker, but that would be illegal anyway.

I feel that if prostitution were to be legalized, within a matter of time it will become an ever-expanding recession-proof industry with various levels of access for various levels of income. After a certain amount of time, it won't seem so dirty. Even though it IS kinda sad.

Can't argue with this logic.

legal prostitution would set STDs off like a wild fire and the last thing we need is another burden put on health care

should i be able to shoot up heroine, cocaine, crystal meth. using that logic opens up a hole where people can say they should be allowed to anything and all narcotics should be legalized

If it were legal prostitutes would have to be STD-free or at least warn the client(and probably use protection).

Yes you should able to do that.

If it was legalized it would be better regulated. There would be far less STD filled *****s because condoms would be required as well as regular screening. You know, like in all the places where prostitution is already legal.

And people would be better educated about it's effects, more willing to admit they have a problem and able to get help because they won't have the fear of the law. Plus, most problems with drugs like Ecstasy (I know you didn't mention that one) are due to it being impure or people not drinking or drinking too much with it - which the education would help solve.

You should be able to shoot up whatever the hell you want. As long as there are no victims.

It's a guy's choice if he wants to pay a girl for sex not the government's. Still though, he's asking for aids.

It's a woman's choice as well.

Also, mandate condom use and weekly STD tests. Problem solved.

The above pretty much already spoke my mind for me.

They already have regular STD testing in the porn industry; I'm sure it'd be something similar.

Basically this. It's legal in Nevada and it seems to be doing quite well.

Compare the quality of legal cannabis and illegal cannabis.

Then apply that logic to hookers.
This is why I don't like arguing on the internet.

If people only got away from this dumb **** "sex is bad" stigma and lifted the taboo on sex then this wouldn't be a problem, everyone would get all the loving they needed and prostitution would cease to exist.
