I've noticed that the best progressive metal songs are usually VERY long, so simply what is your favorite prog metal songs that are at least 20 min long.
Mine: The Odyssey - Symphony X

I'm not a fan of things longer than 20 minutes, but if I must pick one, then I'd choose Octavarium.

There are probably six or seven listenable twenty-plus minute songs out there, maybe a few more. A Change Of Seasons is the only remotely metal one that comes to mind.

The Odyssey
The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Octavarium
A Change of Seasons
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (I'd say that it is a 42 minute song rather than an album)

There are only 3 'songs' on my iPod that go past 20 mins, and two of them are parts of Bruckner's 9th. The other one is from Burzum.

What's 20 mins long and doesn't suck? Tough question.

Devil Doll is certainly amusing. But drags on like hell and is full of unnecessary silence and well....no direction.

Crimson I bores me now. Never thought I'd say that.

I have some Reverend Bizzare and Cathedral that's sitting around, but I'm not a big fan of those long songs. Or the bands in general beyond Cathedral's first.

Esoteric....ehh.....

Symphony X....snooze.....

I don't think I like anything other than Bruckner and Vaughan Williams on my iTunes. Farsot, Opeth, Deathspell Omega, Mournful Congregation, Weakling, Kalisia, Sleep, Green Carnation.... a lot of things I don't listen to...
