So to start off I just want to apologize for sounding like a complete douche but I'm a 16 year old Musician/Model/Actor (Unholy Trinity) from Vancouver currently living in LA. I play a lot of Alternative rock type music when in bands and study jazz in my free time. Acting isn't a huge priority for me although it beats working a part time job and same goes for modeling. Anyway what I'm asking is which city out of these (Vancouver, L.A., NYC, New Orleans, San Francisco/Berkeley) would give me the opportunity to meet many musicians in a vibrant music scene as well as not completely taking away show biz opportunities? LA would be ideal for anyone but there really is no scene in this city nowadays, especially because I live just off Hollywood Boulevard. No one here wants to make original/innovative material. So I'm not fully basing my decision on this but I would appreciate any opinions or guidance any of you would care to give. Thanks.

Can I ask, why is it important that we know you're an "actor" and "model"??? to deduce where you should go to meet "vibrant" musicians???

Well it's really just another more truthful way of saying I don't want to move to Chicago or Nashville...

So because you hate them, they shouldn't make a new album? You don't have to buy it if you don't like it.

australia has a very strong hardcore scene, specifically syndney and melbourne. dunno if that helps, didnt read.

on topic; i think tommy rogers has a very good voice for a (insert)core band. however what he lacks with his voice he makes up with his keyboard.
Jackson DXMG -> Vai Morley Wah -> Korg Black Tuner -> (Need a delay) -> Maxon OD808 -> BBE Sonic Maximizer -> ISP Noisegate -> Mesa Boogie Mark IV

When I first listened to BTBAM, I didn't really like his voice. I thought the growls were too harsh but now that I've listened to BTBAM more the vocals just keep getting better. His cleans are pretty cool also, and on TGM Pauls vocals on Desert of Song are pretty nice too.

Oh and Tommy is awesome on the keyboard

Memphis or Nashville have very good music scenes
'And after a while, you can work on points for style.
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.'

'You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.'

Lol, this place is more like /b/ everyday. And I love it.

TS, depends what kind of music. Chicago and San Fransisco are the absolute classical cities. Jazz is great in New York and Chicago. LA is great for alternative/rock/"modern" music. I think your looking for a city like LA ts.

Its a good thing that BTBAM's "weak point" is a hell of a lot stronger than many others strong points

Not sure about the actual city of San Francisco, but in the bay area, the music scene seems to be completely comprised of generic hardcore bands.
