So, Pit, this is a thread where you can come and tell what languages you speak, what languages you're learning, what languages you're planning to learn, and you can also find people to talk to in whatever language for practice. Got this idea while pooping.

Me, I've got my dad's old Rosetta Stone thing for German, seeing as how German is a cool language and I'd like to learn it. Can anyone vouch for how well Rosetta Stone works?

who/what is Rosetta Stone? never heard of it myself but i do know German!

edit: someone to talk to in German would be great, i'd like to get back into it more seriously.

I find all the best ideas I have are qhile I'm either pooping or in the shower, never worked out why.

OT: I used to learn German at school but dropped it in 6th form. As a typical Englishman, foreign languages where never really my forte

Speak english (obviously) learning Spanish (love it), and would like to learn french and German. I love languages so really, even if i learned something random like Arabic, that would be sweet.

I read this outloud and my co-worker thought I knew german.

Good times.

I know spanish, but I was raised an english speaker. I speak very little spanish, but im pretty good at understanding it.

This makes this a trilingual comment. >_>

First language is English, learning Spanish. I'd like to learn another language, preferably something not too difficult. Is German easy to learn if your primary language is English?

I studied french for 8 years in school but I never had to use it in a real-life situation. What a waste, I've practically forgotten how to speak it already.

I've got English, German, and a bit of Spanish. My biggest problem in German is just the amount of vocabulary I know, since I've hardly been able to speak it much.

I'm learning Japanese. I'm doing good I guess. Only been 8 weeks. And I'm going to live in Japan for a year in 8 weeks time.
Luckily Uni is out of the way. Now I can try to actually put some effort in.
Been in Japan since August, no fucking money left!

I speak basic french and fluent engrish.

I want to learn a whole plethora of languages starting with Korean, Japanese, and German.

Also, isn't speaking foreign languages without translation in the pit against the rules?

الان الموضوع في هذه المناقشة هو العربية

UG won't let me punctuate my right to left sentences. How culturally insensitive of UG not to be programmed for right to left languages!
