I really love the guitar tone in the song Nothin' but a Good Time by Poison, any tips on how to acheive that sound?

That sounds to me like the bridge humbucker of a les paul, tone and volume on 10, into an overdriven british voiced amp (marshall, orange, vox...).

If you don't have the gear I'd just say use your bridge pickup with a fairly bright EQ setting and distortion on the amp.

I used to play this with a Danelectro FabTone distortion pedal, an older one...say what anybody will about Danelectro, it was fat and crunchy enough to handle it, sounded good to me.

Lots of crunchy mids, bridge pickup, moderate distortion, lots of volume, tubes.
