Hey guys,

I was wondering what it means when some one puts brackets around a chord. The example I am thinking of is here
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/b/beatles/yellow_submarine_ver4_crd.htm#comments

Around every second chord is a bracket and I was wondering if that was meant to indicate how I am meant to strum the guitar.

A pretty basic question but I really want to know before I learn this song off by heart.

any help would be appreciated.
thanks
