Okay for starters let me just say i have a Fender ESS-100 acoustic guitar it has been my baby for the past 2 years now. it even has a name

okay, what i did was took the strap button off of the back of the body where it was mounted at the factory, and i drilled a hole in the heel of the neck about a half inch below the fingerboard so it feels more solid.

i was wondering if this was dumb and could harm the guitar??
i didnt think of that ahead of time

No it can't hurt the guitar. You might wanna fill the hole where the old strap button was.
