Now that summers here, I feel as if I have to change what I listen to accordingly. You know what I mean, there are some songs that just scream to be played when the weather is hot.
For me, summer means its time for Surf Rock (Dick Dale especially) and that certain type of summery indie rock (such as Animal Collective, the type of indie who's primary influence is the Beach Boys (so back to surf rock again I guess)

So what does the Pit listen to in the summer heat (or summer cold if you live somewhere where its cold year round)?

They're an Australian band, so I'd probably be right in guessing you've never heard of them: they're great though! And this song is SO summer it's not funny

Meh. It's all year-roundish for me.

Muse
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Aerosmith
Beatles
Nirvana
The Offspring
At the Drive-In
The Mars Volta

.......whatever.

Though you might also want to check out The Gentlephones and The Auhhs on their myspaces. Good poppy yet edged rock 'n' roll.

Listen to some Chilli Peppers and Ska.

Ahh ska. Good stuff that. I like the newer stuff mostly (especially Streetlight Manifesto), but I also like the Specials and some first wave ska.

Look up some radio stations in california that play 90's rock and its many sub genres. you're bound to find great summer music.

here's a few in my head though.

Two Princes - Spin Doctors
Smooth - Carlos Santana and Matchbox 20 (I think its just the frontman)
Semi-Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Follow Me - Uncle Kracker
96 Quite Bitter Beings - CKY
Superman - Goldfinger
Upside Down - Jack Johnson
Loser - Beck
Self Esteem - The Offspring
Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
Hunger Strike - Temple of the dog
No Rain - Blind Melon
And Fools Shine On - Brother Cane
Nothing Left to Lose - Matt Kearney
Far Behind - Candlebox
You - Candlebox
Comedown - Bush
All-Star - Smashmouth

Then there is a bunch of sweet ass house/dance/club/trance/electronic music from the 90s thats awesome to blast in the summer.

I'M A SCATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anybody wanna put anything here just let me know

Pretty much all popular radio hits that I used to love when I was younger. Summer is the time for nostalgic songs. Prime example: Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard.

Pop songs that are fun to sing to basically.
