Pulp Fiction comes to mind, although it might only be me who liked it.

Pretty obvious, but I love the beginning of Trainspotting.

American gangster had a good one...some jabbering latino tied to a chair gets lit on fire, kicked to the ground, and then shot several times...in my opinion, thats one hell of an opener

I liked it, but not as much as I expected.

That's probably down to being told exactly what it contained months before seeing it. Bloody Total Film.

Would have probably had more emotional impact without that knowledge.

Woah... like was I ... Memento

You did there.... what... I see.

I vote The Dark Knight. Not just the bank robbery seen, but the entire opening sequence. It got me so pumped up for the rest of the movie with all the dark shots of the city, the tense music, the sparse, to-the-point dialogue. It started the movie with a lot of momentum.

The Departed comes in second. Same deal, it just kind of set the direction of the movie very aptly and grabbed hold of my attention.
We're only strays.
