Does the chord come in the context of a progression, and is there a melodic movement that results in this as a transitional chord?

Gmaj7add9 (which would honestly just be better notated as Gmaj9), doesn't contain an E, and thus cannot be correct in any context given the chord you've given.

i'd go with Gmaj13 here.
