I have an Ibanez S320 and it has an open pore/weathered black finish. The finish is flat and I know with flat wall paint, it's not very durable and isn't really washable. I want to know how to take care of it. I've seen some videos of other people who have the same guitar and it looks like they put something on the body to make it look glossy and possibly to seal it. Also, some crud has managed to build up in some of the pores, how do I remove that? Any help with this would be great.
Wiping it with a slightly damp cloth is really the only way to clean it. Don't polish it or it'll go glossy. After you've cleaned it, just wipe it down, not much else you can do to a matte finish.
