even though this band has made some truly epic masterpieces, they really dropped the ball when it came to Come Clarity. so I ask you, do you think they can recover from this fluke or will they forever be shunned for such a thing? *cough* St Anger *cough* Metallica *cough*

With Death Magnetic, Metallica has overcome the monstrosity that was St. Anger... (cwatididthar?)

I think In Flames will be good to go as long as they don't give up on themselves like so many bands

they need to realize that hot topic owns their souls.

Metallica didn't overcome or redeem for anything with Death Magnetic. And I don't think In Flames will return to the style the most of us appreciate them for.

I still find Come Clarity and A Sense Of Purpose enjoyable though.

And I'm not sure Come Clarity even compares to "pulling a St. Anger". Come Clarity is about the same style as any other In Flames album since Colony.

This is true. Sure, the title track was soft but the rest of the album wasn't too far off in terms of sound or heaviness from Clayman onward. Definitely not comparable to St. Anger at least.

But Colony was awesome.

Im sorry, I just don't see how you could argue that hardcore isn't metal. That just seems arrogant to me.

Yes, its its own kind of metal, but its still metal.

If you think Come Clarity is comparable to St. Anger you're a retard.

And I for one thought that A Sense of Purpose was their best since Clayman

I think everyone knows their recent stuff is terrible. Has the band noticed it ? They should have by the 5th or 6th album of the same bullshit.

Come Clarity wasn't that bad, it had a few good songs unlike the turds it sandwichs between Clayman and Itself.

considering clayman was their last 'decent' work, that's not saying much
