I'm looking for a halfstack with good cleans and a natural distortion/overdrive that is pretty versatile. I'm playing a Jackson DK2.

Can someone tell me what kind of amp I need?

It all depends on how much money you have to spend. Marshall JVM -line's supposedly pretty darn good, and if you have some real dough, you should check the Mesa Boogie Mark V.

You're not exactly giving us a ton of information here...

Assuming you actually have the budget for a serious half stack, I would suggest a Mesa Tremoverb head and a 4x12 loaded with vintage 30s might be something to look at.
