Getting interested in rack gear to acheive an 80's hard rock hair metal tone... Dokken, Skid Row, Van Halen, Poison, Warrant, Ratt, Extreme..etc. I Know most guys used the ADA MP-1 in the 80's, so if I were to get one, I found a cheap Mesa Boogie Fifty Fifty Power Amp on craigslist. Is this a good combination? Will it give me the tones I want?

well it's no 5150 (when would anyone choose a peavey over a mesa/boogie?), but I suppose that, with enough tuning and experimentation, it would do the trick. You just need high gain and high treble really.
Marshall amplifiers are the truest purveyors of rock and roll known to man.

"And give a man an amplifier and a synthesizer, and he doesn't become whoever, you know. He doesn't become us."

Holy crap, check this out!

Unless I missed something, where does a 5150 come into this?

And if most bands were using the ADA, I can't see why it wouldn't work then.
