hey forum!

I am not able to afford a decent guitar, but i am willing to put some new pickups in my current guitar, an Ibanez RG370DX

something with some metally mid range bluesy punch - somewhere along the lines of a john petrucci or satch tone, any ideas?

as i said, new guitar is out of the question

Bridge: Crunch Lab
Neck: PAF Pro

First you need to make sure you have a good amp though.

Im also thinking of changing the bridge pickup to a Crunch Lab, and i use a Microcube. I already know what u guys will probably say, but will a pickup change from the stock INF2 pickups to a Crunch Lab make that much difference? Im not ready atm to upgrade my amp, only use it for bedroom practice anyway
Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6
Ibanez RGR321EX
Roland Microcube

To give your answer some context, the change you'll experience will probably be around a 5% improvement over your current tone.

think he uses the crunch lab in the bridge and liquifire in the neck. Thats what he used for Black Clouds and Silver Linings anyway (i think)

Yup.

The Crunch Lab is a modded version of the D Sonic

The Liquifire is a modded version of the Air Norton.

I'd have chosen the PAF Pro over the Air Norton as the PAF Pro will give you solid approximations of both JP and Satch's tone.

I would save for new amp though since pickups are like sharpening stones to a knife.
Damn it! Disable can't use disable to disable Disable's disable because disable's disable has already been disabled by Disable's disable!
