Hey, quick question.

I went to a Green Day gig (yeah, yeah.... I like their old stuff too ) and for a lot of the gig, Billie played a '72 Thinline Tele, but he came on stage with this guitar. I know it's a Gibson, but a Gibson what?

Is it just a Les Paul with a neck pup in it?

I'm sorry for the dumb question but I'm a fender guy, I don't know much about Gibsons.

It's an LP special, not a junior or custom or whatever else. Probably a custom shop though, I've seen him with a couple different ones.

Billie Joe plays lep paul juniors, or some specials. the single pickup guitar is a les paul special. hes got a variety of the 50's era lp juniors, some are double cuts, some are specials like that one, some are single cutaways

The one on GC it outrageously expensive. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Custom-1960-Les-Paul-Special-Double-Cutaway-Electric-Guitar-517059-i1149154.gc
That's the first time I've seen him actually play an LP Special. then again, since American Idiot I haven't kept tabs on them.
