Anyway I found an amp in my shed can i use it as head? Its not guitar amp, but id sure as hell like to plug it in and see how it rolls. Its a Sansui "AU-55A". it has several inputs at the back, but i have no idea how to use them. Where do I plug the guitar in?

Inputs
Phono 1 & 2, Aux, Tuner & Tape (switch). Aux can be used for CD, DVD, VCR, Headphone jack.
Pre-in Main-out RCA plugs on rear. This amp can be used as a pre-amp or power amplifier. The Pre-Amp, inputs and power supply are all shielded.

Where do I plug in the guitar, what adaptors will i need? I can figure out how to plug speakers in, lol

It's stereo amp, and I don't think it's tube. However, for a stereo amp, it is very good. Don't plug guitar into it; just use it as hi-fi if it works.

You can use it as a head. Works best with a multifx unit. Just use 1/4" to RCA adapters on the output of the multifx.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Howard Dumble said something to the effect that 'fragile harmonics' cannot 'survive' in a 'crystal lattice' (i.e. solid state transistor) as well as they can in a vacuum tube.

I think a pedal between it and an input, usually used for a turntable, would be great.
There's not risk.
Been in Japan since August, no fucking money left!

Not sure if serious? But, I'm going to act as if it is, what I would do is first get a RCA male to female 1/4in adapter, they make some that split as well, and plug it into the preamp in, as you said there was in the OP. Then take some wire, prolly speaker wire, idk if 16 guage would work, and plug the ends of the wires into the red and black jacks, those are the power amp outs. Then run those to a speaker like you normally would, and that should work....or catch your whole house on fire, then 311 can cook that BBQ at your house.
