Death jazz, or Jazz metal. One of the two.

And one that takes random bits from commercial songs and fits them all together in one genre.

I'm currently working on a Genghis Tron/Converge styled mathcore band with Doctor Who lyrics and themes.

I've never heard it before, and I wanted it to exist, so I took some initiative and started writing it.

this

Edit: Also, I know it exists on YouTube and stuff, but I'd like to see legitimate bands perform "8-bit metal." With vocals, good production quality, and legitimate original compositions.

on a serious note... dubstepcore (seriously) as in dubstep + metalcore. I have heard a remix or two out there of the genre but i think it could be really cool if it was developed.

and to the person who asked about 8-bit metal, check out Horse the Band.

I once had a program that turned any midi file you fed it into an 8-bit song. I forgot what its name was. All I remember was that it was made by some Japanese guy and the English version was a poor translation.

Yea but programs like that usually give you a very crude sounding midi. All the 8-bit remixes on youtube are step sequenced by hand.

MIDI is not sound, it's just data.

what i meant is it won't get all the notes right, so even the best midi player won't properly reproduce the song. the only way to get an accurate midi is to actually transcribe the song.
