Hello everyone,

I am planning out my guitar build, which is going to be a HSH mahogany telecaster with deluxe pickguard, and I was wondering if I need mounting rings for my two humbuckers (Seymour Duncan SH4 and SH2), or can they be mounted without rings like on strat pickups?
These are both P.A.F pickups with nickel covers. They will be mounted, as said before on a custom made telecaster deluxe shaped pickguard. If I do need mounting rings, what sort do I need (Tall, low, tapered height, flat/arched bottom, etc)
I know this may sound like a really stupid question to some of you but I am new to the electric guitar scene and don't really know these things.

Thanks in advance...

If they are being mounted to the pickguard you dont need mounting rings. Just like a strat

So do I use the same height adjustment springs as the ones I would use with mounting rings?
