Hey guys,

I want to buy a wah pedal but I don't know what to buy. I play mostly metal. (Some times rock) I will be buying it of a Guitar Center ( New Haven, Connecticut ) Can you guys recommend me a good wah pedal? (I don't have a price range)

Thanks in advance,

Rangor

I have a Dunlop Kirk Hammett signature wah and I must say its great for metal. My friend has a Zakk Wylde wah too and its also great. It won't sound as smooth for cleans like say a Jimi Hendrix Wah but they are great for metal. Try them out.

If you want more flexibility try the Dunlop 535QC. You can tweak it.

Voodoo lab apparently makes some good wahs, I personally love my Dunlop crybaby, but it's your choice, try a few out. they also make an EVH wah, might want to try that out.

I personally own a Crybaby From Hell... I can tell you it handles high gain amazingly... I don't even worry about how heavy I'm playing it at, my wah does it... look for that

I've heard good things about them, but its a Dimebag so remember it will probably only be good for metal

i always hear good things about Ibanez's Weeping Demon, and they just released a new one. I have a Zakk Wylde wah and it;s perfect for me, but it broke so I'm using a 535qc, its not as great for hard rock or metal, but it's a much more well rounded pedal. I would think if you're into metal the Kirk Hammet or Dimebag ones would be good to check out, or even the new Jerry Cantrel one.

So guys if I buy a crybaby original I most likely won't get a metal sound out of it? Am I correct? and if I buy a dime's crybaby from hell, I won't be able to get classical rock sound?

I have a Vox V847, it's very nice, didn't cost much either...just it doesn't have the separate volume control built in which is kinda sucky. I reccomend trying this one out.

And what about this : MXR MC-404 CAE Wah Pedal ? It is the pedal mcraddict81592 suggested. Video seems good. Can anyone elaborate on it?

There's one used towards the end of this video too, showing that it sounds good with fuzz. I don't know if you can get it local, but I really wouldn't wanna give GC my money anyway.

Okay, but you could just order something better online and have it shipped to CT.

Fulltone Clyde is what I'd aim for....

+1 i love the clyde. well worth the money (it on my list of things to pick up eventually).

i personally would not recommend a crybaby unless you are on a tight budget. i disagree about the previous poster on the crybaby from hell. i thought it wasn't that great. i haven't tried the kirk hammet, so i can't comment on that.
