So, for various reasons i have now got acoustic guitar strings on my electric , i tuned down half a step to reduce tension and it seems pretty nice to play with, sounds good through the amp. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and has any experiences doing this kind of thing?

i've done it and tbh it sounded $#!t. because the strings were so heavy and they just felt horrible to play with. but if you like it then stick with it, it's all about what you feel comfortable with.

You'll be missing the nickel from electric guitar strings. Your pickups won't be nearly as effective. But meh, if you liked the sound of it...

EDIT: - if they were brass, of course.

There is abit less output although the whole set seems to have a more midrangey sound to it which is pretty good.

try something like the DR Zebras or GHS White Bronze. Acoustic strings with half bronze, half nickel winding. You might get more outpuit
