I just got a new computer and I need to find a good FREE anti virus program that will work with Windows 7 64 bit. I looked but I couldn't really find one the reviewers thought was good. So I come to you, UGers of the Pit, to recommend one

these are the best imo
you can't have both at the same time tho one picks up the other as a virus lol

i use microsoft security essentials, its really good and i believe lighter weight than AVG, although AVG is pretty good too.

Back when I actually used Windows as my main OS I used NOD32 and didn't get any viruses for almost 6 years. It's not a free program but just in case you actually need one in future, that's the one to get.

Just don't use free pr0n sites and 90% of your virus/trojan problem is taken care of.

Isn't that an anti malware? Not an anti virus?

Everyone everywhere says AVG or Avast!, that's just the way life is.

You can't have the firewall on both going though, or they block each other. I have both installed by only one doing live protection.

Good God, no. Stay well away from that. It's terrible. I used to have it. Got sick of it slowing my computer to a crawl and replaced it with Avast, and Avast found about 10 trojans hiding away.

Get Avast. I've used AVG and Avast before, and from experience I can say I find Avast to be better by far.

I shall grant you three wishes.

None of which will work.

Does the above post enrage, offend or confuse you?

Good.
