Has anyone here figured out a way to use a Zune with Macintosh?

i've been a faithful Zune user since the month they came out.
my 1st Gen still works perfectly (minus the fact that it only plays out of one headphone unless you mess with the jack a bit.) and i've dropped it off a motorcycle a couple times going over 30mph and jumped into water with it in my pocket before as well.
i also like the way that the Zune program runs.

My friend has an HD, and i like it better than the iTouches and i'm considering buying one.

I'm also a Mac user and i haven't been able to find a way to use my Zune with my MacBook.
i have a lot of music on my computer that i don't have on my Zune, and vice versa.

so, my question here is, have any of you been able to use a Zune on a Mac?
without running any sort of Windows parallels or anything.

Ask Apple customer support. They're always great with using 3rd-party products on their systems

those all explain how to do it using Windows parallels.

i've done my research, dude.
i wouldn't be here if i hadn't.
trust me, having people like you post stupid things like that is the last thing i want to deal with...

Yes it was in fact a joke, with a meaning behind it.

You are trying to use a Microsoft product on an Apple computer, the only way is virtual machines or dual-booting. I can pretty much guarantee there will never be an update or alternative software for it

that's Microsoft's fault.

i love Zune. but damn.
Apple products work with Windows computers...

Here's one way, and it's free! (if you have a windows OS disc that is)

Bootcamp.

EDIT ^ Apple products work on/with windows computers, but not as good as they should/can.

EDIT 2: I never worked with Zune, but I guess you could try Wine and see where that takes ya.

EDIT 3: http://gizmodo.com/217258/zune-now-works-with-mac-os-x-and-linux-well-almost try if that still works.

thanks, man, but i don't want Bootcamp.

i'm trying to do this and use as little HD space as possible.

and i don't care how well it works.
i just wanna transfer a few songs! haha.

See my 2nd and 3rd (lol) edits, see where they take you (again, no Zune user so this is basically a shot in the dark. Love my 17" MBP to bits though )

I don't know a thing about Zunes but I'm guessing you just transfer songs with it via USB right? If you can format the drive from NTFS to FAT32 there's a chance you might be able to just drag and drop songs onto it. Any drive that's NTFS format doesn't have the sufficient privileges or something?

Probably won't work, but whatever.

well there's addons for OS X (addons? on my osx?!?!?!? iknorite) which allow transfer to NTFS, and for what I read, zune uses a ****ed-up storage system like the iPods.

Where pray can I find said add-on? That'll be sure to come in very handy!

^i have the cheap MB =[.
haha.

i've seen some videos you youtube of someone using Zune on their Mac, but no explanation how, but it didn't appear that he was using any sort of program like Wine or BC or dual-booting or anything like that. Could have just been one of those stupid youtube tricks that make people like me post things like this. haha.

it's just disappointing.
i like Zune and the ability to get music from other people's computers and not lose your own music.

Well for one, mac's aren't computers.

And two: both Apple and Windows suffer from the same problems.

Try either Sourceforge or the Apple Downloads page.

I'll look for you if you want but seriously, just look around those two sites and within five minutes you'll be giggling like a little girl cause of all the fun software you find.

I am in fact very serious. But on-topic, it really won't work on amac without dual-booting of some sorts. Trust me, I tried.

Yep, doesn't hurt to give a look around though.

EDIT: allrite, maybe taking a look at what the Zune actually works like is a good idea

true.
i'll give it a shot.

i just can't believe that someone hasn't figured this out yet.
i mean, it's been like 6 years...

well it shows one of / a few things:
1 - not many apple users have a Zune
2 - Not many apple users that have a zune don't have a windows boot
3 - Windows doesn't care bout Apple and Vice Versa (well that's something new)
4 - .net is a bitch.
