I searched and didn't find anything, so don't kill me.

I've been interested in metal compilation albums, but the only ones I am aware of are the Headbangers Ball Series and Metal For The Masses Series.

So..share what you know?

I have a CD someone gifted me called Metal Mayhem...its mostly traditional metal or classic rock IIRC. Metal Massacre is another series of compilations

Fenriz's Old School black metal compilation introduced me to some great bands.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

0-0-0-13-0-0-0-0-13 or something like that alalalala but It;s so heavy and off time and awesome and you could not f**k anyone to it.

The Pagan fire compelation one is pretty good.
UK Black metal volume 2 on the other hand really isnt.

I find compilations tend to be a bit naff usually. As they seemed to be aimed at people trying to get into a genre.

Though certain blogs distribute their own slightly less than legal ones. Its closed now, but Metal-Spirit had some awesome compilations.

The best compilations I have are
Deep Lancashire: Songs, Ballads and Verse from the Industrial North West of England
&
The Iron Muse - A Panorama of Industrial Folk Music

I usually don't like comps. It just feels scattered you know? It doesn't serve the same purpose as an album does.

Fenriz's compilation is the only good compilation around - from the best metal scene around.
