Hey UGers,
I've decided to build a partscaster and found this body on ebay.. Do you guys think its worth paying this much just for a guitar body with trem etc?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Vintage-57-RI-USA-Fender-Strat-BODY-HARDWARE-1957-/190356640219?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2c5223d1db

Plus I live in Australia so including shipping it would cost me roughly $758 AUD ($663 USD)

Thanx,
Mike

That is just rediculous, I would suggest one of these three sites though obviously warmoth is going to give you the best quality but be the most expensive.

Absolute ripoff. Its that much because its a 57RI body, but it wont necessarily be better than other bodies.

mm yeh.. I did think the price was steep.. my second option was buying a road worn body with trem etc for around 480 AUD

Definitely. Hell, a complete new American special is only another $100!

If you're patient, you can score an American Vintage '57 RI for $700 in close to mint condition.

^ thats probably the best option.. I don't think I could bring myself to buy one down here from a store.. If I did it would set me back $3000 - 3500 AUD (2,621.12 - 3,057.98 USD)

Damn...thats a real beaut, really overpriced though, could probably score an entire Strato with that much.
