I see them more often for bass tbh and then 'jazz guitar' strings like i use on my big hollowbody but i'm gonna string my PRS with some at some point and i wanna know what people think to flatwounds in general.

Anyone use em? What are your experiences using them?

Strung up with them once. Less beef, feel nicer.

I like my beef phat

i strung them up once too. It's a nice sound if you like it. I hated the feeling of not having windings though. They feel weird.

personally I think I'd rather have all wounds! For downtuning and stuff. I love having a wound G, chords sound so much nicer with it.

+1, feels so weird. Gets less noise when fretting or sliding though.

I like my tone bright, so they weren't really for me.

This, usually only on acoustics, though. I don't really like the flatwounds, they feel nice, but the sound leaves something to be desired.
